Melissa McCarthy feels delighted that Barbra Streisand is aware of her existence.
An actress who was nominated for an Oscar couldn't have cared less when Barbra Streisand, a music icon, left a comment on her Instagram asking her if she was taking Ozempic. In fact, she considered it a compliment.
McCarthy reacted to Streisand's comment by posting a picture of a magazine with an old photo of Streisand on the cover and captioned it "for members of the Barbra Streisand fan club only!!!"
"The moral is, Barbra Streisand knows who I am. She reached out to me, and she thinks I look good!" McCarthy shared in a short video.
"I win the day," she added.
This came after Streisand had written and then deleted her question to McCarthy about the weight-loss medication.
In her response, Streisand mentioned that she had first opened Instagram to see the beautiful flowers she'd received for her birthday the week before. "Below them was a photo of my friend Melissa McCarthy whom I sang with on my Encore album. She looked amazing! I just wanted to pay her a compliment. I forgot the whole world was reading."
Still, their appreciation for each other remains.
