Her stylist, Law Roach, recently shared some insights about her clothing choices and her long-standing attachment to a specific type of shoe: the "So Kate 120" pumps by Christian Louboutin.
In an interview on "The Cutting Room Floor" podcast, Roach explained why Zendaya has preferred these particular high heels for years. According to him, the "So Kate" is a highly versatile shoe, but it's also incredibly painful. Despite the discomfort, the actress has remained loyal to this style of footwear. Her passion for these pumps dates back to when she was just 14 years old.
"I remember her wearing those 'So Kates' all day," Roach recalled. "She broke down after the first time wearing them, saying, 'I have to take these shoes off.' I told her, 'You're not taking these shoes off,' and she continued to wear them. The very next day, she put them on again, and then the day after that, she wore them again." He added, "That's how it became our thing."
Now, Zendaya's feet are so accustomed to the pumps that she can wear them all day, dance in them, or even toss her legs up in them. Surprisingly, she doesn't receive any financial compensation from Christian Louboutin for wearing the shoes. Instead, their connection is built on genuine admiration.
Although the label doesn't write them a check, Roach has developed a close relationship with Christian Louboutin's team and can count them as friends. This bond has led to them going above and beyond to provide the actress with her favorite shoes whenever necessary. "They're very kind to us," Roach said. "I'm really good friends with Christian because of it, and I know his team all over the world. They'll call the store in an emergency situation to get her the shoe, because it's become so synonymous with her."
