This master filmmaker was the undeniable king of B-movies. Yet, Roger Corman's influence in the filmmaking world exceeds this title. He was the discoverer of talented stars like Robert De Niro and Jack Nicholson, and impacted countless legendary directors. Recently, at the age of 98, Corman passed away at his home in Santa Monica, California, as shared by his family to the media outlet "Variety."

Identified as the launcher of Hollywood powerhouses such as Robert De Niro and Jack Nicholson, Roger Corman's impact on the film industry cannot be understated. Corman's death was reportedly at 98 in his Santa Monica, California residence.

Praising Corman's groundbreaking and unconventional work, his family expressed, "His films were revolutionary and iconoclastic and captured the spirit of an era." When discussing how he desired to be remembered, they revealed that he simply considered himself, "a filmmaker, plain and simple."

Gale Anne Hurd, a well-known film producer, grieved Corman's loss. Hurd, famous for "Terminator," regarded Corman as "one of the greatest visionaries in the history of cinema." She thanked him for the beginning of her career when he hired her at age 23 and praised him as her lifetime mentor and hero. Ron Howard, an acclaimed filmmaker himself, expressed his appreciation to Corman for launching his career at just 23 years old. Directors who had their careers shaped and supported by Corman included Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese, and James Cameron - whose pioneering filmmaking work itself created film history.

Corman was born in Detroit in 1929. With a mere 493 productions and 56 directorial credits, including "The Fast and the Furios," "Grand Theft Auto," and "The Cry Baby Killer" in 1958, marking Jack Nicholson's feature film debut, according to IMDb. Although he rarely won film awards, the esteemed Oscar Academy eventually acknowledged his accomplishments. In 2009, Corman received an honorary Oscar for his lifelong dedication and influence to cinematic endeavors.
