Third installment of "Knives Out" series - Two additional famous actors join the ensemble.

The excitement surrounding the "Knives Out" series doesn't just come from the cases themselves, but also from the star-studded casts. In both "Knives Out - A Family Affair" and the follow-up "Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery," Daniel Craig (56) played the role of private detective Benoit Blanc, surrounded by big names. And the trend continues with the third installment, as reported by "Variety."

Actress Kerry Washington (47) and actor Andrew Scott (47) are joining the cast for the third part, titled "Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery." Washington has been in films like Quentin Tarantino's (61) "Django Unchained" and the TV show "Scandal," which ran from 2012 to 2018.

Scott left an impact with his roles in two TV series. He portrayed the villainous Professor Moriarty opposite Benedict Cumberbatch's (47) Sherlock, and stirred things up as the "Sexy Priest" in "Fleabag."

Still room for more

Before the announcement about Washington and Scott, two more names were already confirmed. Rising stars Josh O'Connor (34) and Cailee Spaeny (25) will also be joining the suspect lineup. O'Connor gained popularity for his performance in "The Crown," where he played Prince Charles in seasons three and four of the Netflix hit series. Spaeny was awarded best actress at the Venice Film Festival for her role as Elvis Presley's wife in "Priscilla."

If creator Rian Johnson (50) follows the pattern set in the previous parts, the roster of suspects could get even bigger. With Craig as the only constant, the rest of the cast has featured high-profile Hollywood stars.

As we wait for the complete cast list for "Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery" to be revealed, there's still some time. The Netflix production doesn't have a definitive release date yet, but it's expected to be out by 2025 at the latest.
