Tom Brady shares how his involvement in 'The Greatest Roast of All Time' influenced his kids.
During the show, where Kevin Hart was the host and it was streamed live on Netflix, Brady is teased about various aspects such as his divorce from supermodel Gisele Bündchen, his looks, his two retirements, the deflating incident, and his investment in FTX. Brady mentioned in an episode of "The Pivot Podcast" with Fred Taylor, Ryan Clark, and Channing Crowder, released Tuesday, that the jibes about his divorce didn't sit well with his family.
"I loved the banter about me, thought it was hilarious," he said. "I didn't like how it affected my kids."
The night saw much joking about their divorce with him frequently shown sipping from his drink whenever the subject came up. Brady and Bündchen, both parents of two kids, Benjamin, aged 14, and Vivian, aged 11, parted ways in October 2022.
Brady felt a pang of regret midway through the roast and realized he could've made better decisions.
"This was supposed to be fun and about me, but it hit me later - I wouldn't do this again, 'cause I saw how it affected my dearest family members," he shared.
Brady further mentioned, "In many ways, it made me a better caretaker, realizing you can be too naive sometimes."
In his impressive 23-year NFL career as a top quarterback, Brady earned an impressive collection of seven Super Bowls rings, six with New England Patriots and one with Tampa Bay Bucaneers, five Super Bowl MVPs, and three NFL MVPs. He initially announced his retirement in February 2022, but later changed his tune and played one more season before finally hanging it up.
When questioned about his participation in the show, Brady offered a simple answer.
"It was straightforward. I can take all the jibes. I could've done this earlier, but I was preoccupied with winning championships," he rationalized.
CNN's Alli Rosenbloom contributed to this report.

The roast brought a lot of humor and jibes about Brady's personal life, but he expressed discomfort with how it affected his children's feelings. Participating in the entertainment event, which was streamed on Netflix, provided a mix of amusement and regret for Brady, as he shared later.
