Three competitors vie for the title of "Let's Dance" champion.
Over and over again, they faced challenges. But in the end, they realized: there can only be one winner... or possibly two? The ultimate "Let's Dance" competition of the 17th season is approaching, and Detlef Soost, Gabriel Kelly, and Jana Wosnitza are battling it out for the glory. They're about to showcase their skills one last time before the judge's decision.
It's almost here: the 17th season's grand "Let's Dance" finale airs Friday evening, starting at 8:15 PM on RTL and RTL+. Only one finalist and two finalists will captivate the jury with their jury dance, favorite dance, and freestyle, vying for the "Dancing Star 2024" trophy.
Jana Wosnitza
RTL presenter Jana Wosnitza teamed up with partner Vadim Garbuzov and is aiming for victory. Since the beginning, she's worked diligently and meticulously, improving each step of the way. Her latest scores in the semi-final were 29, 29, and 24 points from the jury for her three dances.
Joachim Llambi, a juror, praised Wosnitza's progression on the show in a recent RTL interview: "She wasn't initially a dancer. She was always diligent and quite accurate. Eventually, she developed into the performer she is today. She truly deserves to continue."
Motsi Mabuse agreed, noting that Wosnitza transformed into an underdog who significantly enhanced her strength and quality as the competition progressed.
Detlef Soost
Can dance pro Ekaterina Leonova secure her fourth "Let's Dance" victory with Detlef Soost? Leonova has a strong contender in Soost, who's scored 29 points three times in the semi-final.
"Detlef put on an immensely charismatic performance," Mabuse gushed in the RTL interview. "What I appreciate about Soost is that he takes immense risks on 'Let's Dance.' He threw himself into every dance, sometimes going beyond his limits. However, he always gave his all. He also improved."
Llambi was initially concerned about Soost's background, but watching him perform, he noted, "I was worried given his different upbringing. However, he showed how well he can handle standard and Latin dances." In contrast, colleague Jorge González admired Soost's "soft movements," which he learned to exude on the show.
Gabriel Kelly
Gabriel Kelly managed to secure crowd-favorite status as the seasons progressed, with Malika Dzumaev. This influential musician has garnered the highest average score this season. He most recently scored 29, 30, and 30 points in the semi-final.
"Gabriel is our natural talent," Mabuse said in the RTL interview. "He's constant and stable, at a very high level, from the start to the end." Llambi applauds Kelly's innate music and rhythm sensibility. "He's our little music and rhythm wonder. From the get-go. He's continually improved his posture. For me, the most well-rounded dancer in this season."
Jorge González echoed Mabuse's sentiments, praising Kelly as "a top-notch guy, free as a bird. He trains hard and has discovered dance as a passion on 'Let's Dance.' He's shown what the show is truly about and has learned to express his emotions through dancing."
