The resting place of Willi Herren has been defaced.
The daughter of late German entertainer Willi Herren, Alessia, is expressing her anger on Instagram after her father's grave was vandalized at the Melaten Cemetery in Cologne. This isn't the first time the grave has been targeted, as confirmed by Herren's widow, Jasmin, who voiced her dismay at such disrespectful behavior.
"How low can you get? You destroy my father's gravestone!" Alessia wrote angrily on social media. Along with her post, a photo revealed the destruction surrounding Herren's resting place - grave lights and flower arrangements thrown all around.
Shocked and outraged, the 21-year-old is determined tofind the perpetrator(s) and vowed, "I'll find you. I'm looking for you. You won't hide from me."
This kind of vandalism is not new to the Melaten Cemetery, as stated by Willi Herren's widow, Jasmin, who spoke with RTL. Still, even with this prior knowledge, she remains shocked by the latest incident: "This kind of behavior is disrespectful, disgraceful, and deserves punishment." She had previously tried to set up surveillance for the grave but couldn't since the cemetery is a public area.
Willi Herren, known for his role as "Olli Klatt" in the popular German soap opera "Lindenstraße", also sang Mallorca party hits and participated in several reality shows, including "Ich bin ein Star - Holt mich hier raus!" and the 2018 "Sommerhaus der Stars". Herren met his untimely death in his Cologne-Mülheim apartment in April 2021, at age 45. For years, he battled addiction to drugs and pills, resulting in police catching him drink driving. Towards the end of 2018, he acknowledged his 20-year history of drug abuse and entered rehab.
