Say farewell to the Melt music festival at the former open-cast mine Ferropolis in Saxony-Anhalt this summer. The festival will take place for the last time this year, as announced on social media and their website. Unfortunately, the organizers can no longer continue the event.

This festival, which started in 1997, has been held annually at the Ferropolis site of a former brown coal mine in Gräfenhainichen (Wittenberg district). The impressive backdrop of retired excavators has been attracting thousands of festivalgoers since 1999.

Come and dance one last time at the "Baggerstadt" (excavator city) from July 11th to 13th. This year's lineup includes British pop trio Sugababes, German electronic producer DJ Koze, Domiziana ("Without Gasoline"), and Paula Hartmann ("DLIT (the love is dead)"). Attracting over 25,000 visitors before the Corona pandemic, Melt has become a memorable event for its attendees.
