Sophie Turner considers Taylor Swift her role model.
Sophie Turner, widely recognized for her role in "Game of Thrones," has experienced a challenging period in her life. But she's had a reliable friend to count on throughout this difficult stretch—none other than Taylor Swift. Turner spoke fondly of their unique bond in a recent interview with Vogue UK.
Back in September, reports surfaced that Turner and musician Joe Jonas were divorcing. During the following months, the actress became a constant presence next to the superstar Swift. Turner now reveals the deeper connection between these two ladies in this cover story for Vogue UK. According to the interview, Swift offered her home to Turner and her two kids in an instant after news of the separation broke.
Turner reflects on the extreme difficulty of those days and weeks that followed the announcement of her divorce. "Those were the worst days of my life," she shares. Her filming commitments in England made it impossible for her to visit her children. "I couldn't believe how many outrageous things were being written about me," she adds. "I even wondered if I could keep going."
Swift to the rescue
Once she finished work on the gangster series "Joan," Turner returned to the United States and faced the daunting task of finding a place to stay for herself and her two daughters Willa (4) and Delphine (1). She appealed to Swift, asking if the singer knew of anyone who could potentially rent her a home in New York. Swift stepped up to the plate, generously offering Turner the use of her own NY apartment without a charge. "Taylor has been a savior to me this year," Turner expresses with gratitude. "She took my kids and me in and provided us with a house and a secure environment. She certainly has a heart of gold."
Given their shared history with Joe Jonas—Swift dated Jonas briefly in 2008—it's unsurprising to see Turner and Swift spending time together in the months after Turner's split from Jonas. The pair frequented hangouts with friends such as Gigi Hadid, Selena Gomez, Blake Lively, and Sabrina Carpenter. Turner also supported Swift's partner Travis Kelce, an NFL player for the Kansas City Chiefs, by cheering him on at games.
So, it's safe to say that these two women have made a pact through thick and thin, there for each other's support. No wonder Taylor Swift is often referred to as a "hero" for her generous act of never-ending friendship.
