Charles' First Overseas Trip After Cancer Diagnosis
The recent journey to Normandy's D-Day commemoration is King Charles III's first foreign visit since his cancer diagnosis announcement in February. The 75-year-old monarch is still receiving treatment, and he's been resuming public engagements only since April 30th. During this trip to France, he'll have Prince Edward (60), his brother, and Sophie (59), his sister-in-law, along with Prince Richard (79), his second cousin to provide support.
Unfortunately, Prince William's wife, Princess Kate (42), won't be accompanying them to the celebrations. Just like her husband, the Princess is braving cancer and is undergoing a demanding chemotherapy process. She has been inactive in public life since December, and her latest appearance was during an official engagement.
