Johnny Wactor, the actor known for his role as Brando Corbin in the popular hospital soap opera, was tragically shot while leaving work early on a Saturday morning, according to his mother's statement to KABC.
Wactor's agent, David Shaul, shared a heartfelt tribute, describing him as not only a talented actor dedicated to his craft but also a moral role model. Wactor showcased a strong work ethic and determination to succeed, expressed Shaul. The statement added that working with Johnny was a rare opportunity, and his passing would leave a deep void in their lives.
Johnny Wactor's mother, Scarlett Wactor, spoke with KABC and disclosed the details behind her son's untimely death. A coworker was walking with the actor when they heard what sounded like a car being worked on in a parking lot. As they went to investigate, Johnny approached what he thought was a mechanic only to be met with gunfire.
The incident occurred around 3:25 a.m. PT on Saturday. Los Angeles Police Department Officer Tony Im revealed that three suspects were attempting to steal a catalytic converter when they were interrupted by Wactor. One of the men pulled out a gun and shot him, before the shooter and accomplices fled in a car.
KABC noted that the victim was rushed to the hospital, where he ultimately lost his life. LAPD did not officially confirm that the victim was Johnny Wactor.
Wactor's professional credits include his appearance as Brandon Corbin on "General Hospital" from 2020 to 2022, along with his roles in "Criminal Minds" and "Siberia." IMDB serves as a record of his career.
