Noelia Voigt steps down as Miss USA due to mental health concerns.
"I deeply believe that what I'm experiencing is just the start of a new journey in my life. My aim is to keep inspiring people to stay strong, give priority to their mental well-being, speak up for themselves and others, and never be scared of what might come their way, even if it seems uncertain," Voigt shared through her Instagram.
Voigt took over from Morgan Romano, who represented North Carolina at the 2022 Miss USA event. Elsewhere, she became the first Venezuelan-American woman to win the Miss USA title, pronouncing it herself.
In November, during the final Q&A round when asked about her contributions to the Miss Universe Organization, Voigt emphasized the value of her cultural background and dedicated herself to connecting with various ethnic groups across the United States.
A Miss USA Organization representative shared a statement on Monday with CNN, expressing their support for Voigt's decision to resign from her duties. The statement further stated that, "We prioritize the well-being of our titleholders above all and comprehend the need for her to focus on herself at this juncture."
The organization is presently working on the "transfer of tasks to a successor" and intends to reveal the new Miss USA shortly.
The story is still under development and will be updated.
