Nick Carter files lawsuit against a group of conspirators.
Multiple females accuse Nick Carter of rape, detailing horrific incidents in a documentary series. The Backstreet Boys alum insists his innocence and recruits legal assistance.
Following the broadcast of the show "Fallen Idols: Aaron and Nick Carter" on the US Investigation Discovery network on May 27th, the former Backstreet Boys star maintains his innocence and enlists legal representation.
The four-episode documentary showcases testimonies from Melissa Schuman, a Dream band member, Shannon "Shay" Ruth, and Ashley Repp, three women who have previously accused Nick Carter of sexual assault. The 44-year-old singer is now suing the show's producers.
Carter's lawyer, Dale Hayes Jr., asserts to The Hollywood Reporter, "These are the same malicious accusations that prompted us to sue this gang of conspirators. We're confident we'll win, and they'll be held accountable for spreading these lies."
"It was just horrific"
Schuman recounts an alleged sexual attack that supposedly occurred in 2002 in the documentary. She shared how she had often told Carter, "I'm saving myself for my future husband." He responded, "I could be your husband." She exclaims, "It was just horrific, and I felt like he was literally putting something into me. I didn't try to see it. I asked, 'Nick, what is that?' and he said, 'That's me, Baby.' I was only 18 at the time. She had remained silent about the incident for years. However, in 2023, she filed a lawsuit against the renowned singer. He, in turn, filed a defamation lawsuit. The series has started a renewed discussion about the case.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, executive producer Michael Hirschorn stated that they had engaged with Nick Carter's team during filming and had offered him the chance to address the sexual assault claims. The artist declined to participate.
The documentary series "Fallen Idols: Nick and Aaron Carter" from Investigation Discovery covers the sex scandal involving Nick Carter in the first two episodes and his deceased brother Aaron Carter in episodes three and four. In November 2022, Aaron Carter was discovered unconscious in his bathtub, having overdosed on drugs. He was 34 years old. Nick Carter also lost two sisters: Leslie, who died in 2012 from an overdose, and Bobbie Jean, who passed away on December 23, 2023, from drug use.
