Merciless weather deities do not spare Prince William.
Royal Relatives Brave the Elements for a Wet Garden Party
The notorious British weather doesn't discriminate between commoners and royals. Even while hosting a garden party at Buckingham Palace, Prince William had to deal with constant rain. Yet, despite the uncomfortable conditions, everyone managed to maintain a good mood.
On Tuesday, Prince William welcomed his cousins Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie, Zara Tindall with her husband Mike Tindall, and cousin Peter Phillips to Buckingham Palace for a garden party. Notably absent were Prince William's wife, Princess Kate, and his father, King Charles III. Instead, they were joined by the 79-year-old Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, who are cousins of Queen Elizabeth II.
In the midst of a torrential downpour, the group greeted their guests on the lawn of Buckingham Palace, umbrellas in hand. The Daily Mail reported that the invites consisted of members from various charities and organizations close to Prince William and his wife's hearts, including Swim England and the Homewards Initiative.
A week prior, King Charles held a garden party at Buckingham Palace under clear skies. He and Queen Camilla used the occasion to "celebrate the creative industries," as stated on Instagram. Celebrity guests included several presenters and actors. Typically, the King delegates the hosting of the annual garden parties to family members, who dedicate them to charities close to their hearts.
According to the Daily Mail, each of the British monarch's appointments is being considered to accommodate Charles' desire to continue working despite his cancer diagnosis. For instance, he didn't miss the chance to visit the Chelsea Flower Show on Monday. Last week, he was even appointed the new patron of the Royal Horticultural Society, the organizers of the flower show. King Charles and Queen Camilla attended together.

Despite the challenging weather, Prince William's entertainment-filled garden party at Buckingham Palace continued regardless, with the British Royal Family members like Princess Beatrice and Zara Tindall bravely attending, even in the rain. In a different occasion, King Charles III, with Queen Camilla by his side, hosted a garden party under clear skies, celebrating the creative industries and welcoming several celebrity guests.
