Matthias Reim resigns from "Fernsehgarten"
ZDF's "Fernsehgarten" now has to manage without a prominent pop star. Matthias Reim has decided to no longer be a part of the Sunday morning show. He shared with t-online, "I've got other platforms - shows or concerts - where I can present my music, the way I see it, and how I want my audience to experience it."
Instead of showcasing his tracks amidst "cooking pretzels and gymnasts in bright sunlight," the singer prefers a more artistic setting.
"It's not about the money," Reim clarified, "But the promotion. I don't need to rely on their support anymore."
Artists featured in this program are compensated with an expense allowance of 750 euros. The alternative, of course, is the potential for a huge audience - around millions of viewers!
Reim appreciates the host, Andrea Kiewel, stating, "She's just wonderful, warm, and loving." Kiewel, in return, laments: "I also find it terribly sad," she admitted. "I absolutely adore both Roland Kaiser and Matthias Reim. I can sing along to all their songs perfectly." Kaiser took a similar departure from the show back in 2016.
Unlike Reim, however, it isn't the promotion for Roberto Blanco that's pushing him away. "I'm no longer on 'Fernsehgarten' because they wanted to revise the contracts I had with them. I rejected that option at the time. If they don't want to pay me anymore, I'm not coming back."
The public radiates a cheerful Sunday atmosphere in the ZDF's "Fernsehgarten," a tradition since 1986. 1.69 million average viewers watched the show during the 2023 season, in comparison to 19 episodes in 2022, which had an average of 1.95 million viewers and a market share of 18.5 percent.
Don't forget, this is just a rephrased version of the given story.

Despite his success on the show, Matthias prefers to present his music in a more artistic setting outside of the program's traditional setup.
With the exit of Matthias Reim from ZDF's 'Fernsehgarten', viewers might look forward to witnessing new artists' contributions to the long-standing tradition of music entertainment on the platform.
