It appears their relationship reached its conclusion after a year. The American newspaper "Sun" claims that during her "Celebration" tour, which culminated in early May, Madonna and Popper lacked the time together due to her chaotic schedule.
"Madonna didn't see Josh for ages due to her jam-packed calendar," an insider is said to have told the paper. "Their romance just faded." While they didn't have a nasty breakup, it seems that their current relationship isn't feasible: "There's no animosity – they still like each other. For now, their relationship isn't felt to be workable and things have cooled down, but they're still pals."
Rumors about their relationship began in March 2023 when it was reported that Madonna attended one of Joshua Popper's boxing matches in New York City. She and the former NFL player made their relationship public not long after, sharing a photo of themselves kissing, both sporting masks and clad in black. They supposedly met through Popper's arrangement to offer boxing training to Madonna's son David.
Joshua Popper was present at several of Madonna's concerts, even joining her on stage. In December 2023 at her Brooklyn concert, for instance, Popper could be seen beaming onstage as he sat next to the "Material Girl" singer, commenting on the dancers' moves to her hit "Vogue."
