Farewell to bassist Charlie Colin of the US band Train, who passed away suddenly at 58 years old. His mother stated that he had suffered a fatal accident while taking care of a friend's house in Brussels. The sad news came to light when his friends discovered his lifeless body in the shower several days later. Details regarding the exact date of his tragic incident remain unclear. TMZ reports that Colin had chosen to reside in Brussels and dedicate his time to teaching music. The latest news suggests he was currently busy with composing music for a film in a recording studio.

Charlie Colin was a prominent member of the Train quartet hailing from San Francisco, initiated by Pat Monahan and Rob Hotchkiss. Later joined by Jimmy Stafford (guitar) and Scott Underwood (drums), the band formed in the early 1990s. As shared by "Variety," Colin was a key figure in producing the band's first three albums - their eponymous debut album from 1999, "Drops of Jupiter" (2001), as well as "My Private Nation" (2003).

A highly-acclaimed song by Train is "Drops of Jupiter (Tell Me)" from 2001, which won the prestigious "Best Rock Song" accolade at the Grammy Awards. Following his departure from the band in 2003, Colin went on to play in other groups, including Painbirds, co-founded by Hotchkiss in 2015. Born and raised in Newport Beach, California, Colin attended music classes at Boston's Berklee College of Music.

His fellow bandmates express their deep sorrow and appreciation for Colin via Instagram posts. His "distinctive bass playing" and "wonderful guitar work" made significant contributions to Train's worldwide popularity. They predict he will always have a "warm space" in their memories: "You'll forever be a legend, Charlie. Go and impress the angels."
