"Lucky Escapade!" This Whitsun weekend, Leyla Lahouar and Mike Heiter encountered a car crash and were hospitalized. Now, the romantic duo from the television show "Ich bin ein Star - Holt mich hier raus!" describe how the accident unfolded to their followers.

Shedding tears and sporting a neck brace, Leyla Lahouar penned a heartfelt message to her Instagram followers on Pentecost Sunday, revealing her and Mike Heiter's unfortunate incident. The lovebirds, who met on the said show, had to spend the night in the hospital for observation. The dynamic pair have since made a video to update their fans on the details of the crash.

Mike Heiter shares that they are both fine and were blessed with a guardian angel. "We didn't sustain any major injuries, just minor cuts and bruises," he explains. His girlfriend confirms the statement, adding that the whole ordeal has left her with a constant, deep-seated shock.

The crash occurred en route to Paderborn, where Heiter was scheduled to perform. Heiter recounts seeing the other car speeding up at a red light and subsequently switching from a highway exit into their lane. "It all happened so quickly. Boom! The airbags deployed, and suddenly it was over," Lahouar describes, briefly summarizing the events leading up to the accident.

Ambulance Anxiety

Initially, it appeared that both stars emerged from the wreck unscathed, but Lahouar started experiencing chest and stomach pains. She also "suddenly lost her breath." Heiter, oblivious to his own injuries, tended to Lahouar until the ambulance arrived. "In the midst of all the excitement and adrenaline, I didn't even realize I had anything wrong," he confessed. "At one point, Lahouar turned to me and said, 'I'm also starting to feel dizzy and my head hurts,'" Lahouar recounts.

On the ambulance ride to the hospital, Lahouar could only barely make out snippets of the cause for her boyfriend's confusion and distress: "I overheard them on the radio, calling for an additional ambulance for Heiter. The words 'cervical spine' caused me great alarm. I was in tears and very fearful, thinking that his condition might be much worse due to the adrenaline coursing through his veins," she admits.

Fortunately, Heiter's injuries were minimal, and like Lahouar, he only had bruises and abrasions. The couple bid farewell to the hospital, expressing their profound gratitude towards their fans for the support during these tough times. "Your love means so much to us," they expressed.
