Jon Bon Jovi's 35-year-long marriage to his childhood sweetheart, Dorothea, is an anomaly in the rock industry. The durability of their union can be attributed to Dorothea's acceptance of her husband's infidelity, as the singer admitted in a recent interview.

The hit rockstar, Jon Bon Jovi, has had quite an exciting career. In 1993, he composed the heartfelt song "Bed of Roses" for his wife Dorothea who was the inspiration for the melody. Amazingly enough, they've been married for 35 years and have four children together. So what's the secret to their long-lasting marriage?

In a recent interview, Jon mentioned that their love is based on mutual respect and being lucky to have grown up together. However, he also admitted that Dorothea had to tolerate certain aspects of his life as a celebrity, hinting at his infidelity. "Being a rockstar doesn't make you a saint, but it's also not a license to destroy family life," he said.

The couple met in high school, long before Bon Jovi made it big in the music industry. They fell in love while they were teenagers but broke up for a while. In 1985, the singer was dating actress Diane Lane, but when he and his band hit their peak, Dorothea reunited with him.

In 1989, the couple eloped and got married in the famous Graceland Chapel in Las Vegas. The spontaneous decision surprised many of their fans and loved ones.

Their daughter Stephanie was born in 1989, followed by sons Jesse (1995), Jacob (2002), and Romeo (2004). Their son Jacob recently wed actress Millie Bobby Brown, and Bon Jovi and Dorothea continue to support the young couple. "We hope they can grow up together like we did," Jon shared.
