When Wactor and his companion saw three men tampering with his car, they were confronted. Although the police have not publicly identified the perpetrator, this fits the description of an incident where three suspects tried to steal a catalytic converter. Around 3:25 a.m., officers showed up at the scene near Pico Boulevard and Hope Street. There, they discovered a man with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The criminals had managed to flee the scene in a vehicle, and as of now, they remain at large. The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that the investigation is ongoing. While it is known that Wactor did not attempt to resist or stop the perpetrators, they still shot him.

Johnny Wactor was born on August 31, 1986, in Charleston, South Carolina, and made his television debut in 2007 on the drama series "Army Wives." From 2007 to 2009, he played a variety of supporting roles. In 2013, he was seen in the one-season supernatural drama "Siberia." From 2020 to 2022, he portrayed the role of Brando Corbin in the show "General Hospital." He showcased his talent in 164 episodes of the long-running ABC show. In addition, he made appearances in various other television productions, including "Criminal Minds."
