"Bad Breaking" antagonist Giancarlo Esposito - He secures a part in "Captain America 4"

In the highly praised TV show "Breaking Bad" (2008-2013) and its sequel "Better Call Saul" (2015-2022), Giancarlo Esposito (66) has made a spine-tingling impact as an actor. Marvel films fans too will be convinced by him, as reported by the American website "Variety." It's now confirmed that the Gustavo Fring actor will join the cast of "Captain America: Brave New World."

Given his compelling villainous skills, not just in "Breaking Bad" and the spin-off, but also in "The Boys" (since 2019), it's reasonable to assume Esposito will take on a villain role in "Captain America 4." Nevertheless, the specific part of the 66-year-old in the Marvel movie has not been officially disclosed yet.

Esposito recently shot down a rumor himself - he won't play the morally upright superhero Charles "Professor X" Xavier, leader of the "X-Men." The mighty telepath was already portrayed by established actor Patrick Stewart (83) and James McAvoy (45). Esposito told Variety at a panel discussion that he won't follow in their footsteps.

A Hitherto Unknown Character in "Brave New World"

Instead of reprising a familiar part, Esposito is likely to play a new figure from the Marvel comics.

The title character will no longer be played by Chris Evans (42), who has saved the world as "Cap" in all "Avengers" films and solo productions. Instead, as hinted in "Avengers: Endgame" and the Disney+ series "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier," Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie, 45) assumes the iconic shield.

"Captain America: Brave New World" is slated to hit cinemas globally next year. In addition to Esposito, Harrison Ford (81) will appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) at over 80 years. His role has already been confirmed, as he will portray Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross from the late William Hurt (1950-2022).
