Germany's Top Model Contestant - Frequently encountered favorites among smiles.

In episode 16 of "Germany's Next Topmodel" (Thursday, 8:15 pm, ProSeven or on joyn), the main event of the season happened - the cover shoot for "Harper's Bazaar" magazine. This was meant to be a significant moment for the favorite contestant, but it turned out to be a disaster instead for her. She just couldn't live up to the expectations of Heidi Klum (50) and editor-in-chief Kerstin Schneider (57) because she was smiling too much. As a result, she had to pack her bags and leave the show.

But this wasn't the only surprise announced by Heidi that night. For the very first time, a model duo is competing to win the show. The models Kadidja (21) and Jermaine (20) have a lot in common. Both of them aim for more than just a modeling career. They've had experiences with discrimination in Vienna and Kassel, but that didn't stop them from making a name for themselves on "GNTM." So far, they've been among the favorites, thanks to the numerous modeling jobs they've landed during the season. Jermaine has secured three lucrative gigs, while Kadidja has clinched five jobs. She's landed roles on the catwalk, in commercial shoots, and in photo shoots, all of which impressed the customers. Besides her good looks and great personality, her irresistible smile was one of the biggest reasons why she was booked.

"Iconic, sexy, and self-confident" is how the models should appear in the "Harper's Bazaar" cover shoot, according to editor-in-chief Kerstin Schneider. The importance of this shoot for their chances of winning "GNTM" and their future career was clear to everyone. Frieder (24) said, "This is a photo that can change your life." This year, the magazine is offering two covers: one for women and another for men. For the first time in its history, winners will be honored with this kind of recognition. As nervous and ambitious as the models were, they were all eager to prove themselves.

Heidi surprised the contestants with an announcement during the shoot. She had tried to separate the twins Julian and Luka (24) and treat them as individual participants. But since they're such an eye-catching duo, she decided to evaluate them as a team instead. It's a double chance for them, but it could also be a double risk.

The models then took turns as they were being judged by Heidi and Kerstin. Jermaine received high praise for his elegance and "mega body awareness." Lea (24) was very well-prepared, flaunting compelling poses. Armin (27) impressed when Heidi said, "He's a young god." When it was Kadidja's turn, she showed off her versatility, switching from cool poses to dazzling smiles. "She's perfect for advertising because she has that radiant smile," commented Kerstin Schneider. Heidi added, "You look great on the pictures."

In the Career Ladder or Jump Off challenge, the models faced their fears while walking on a glass-like catwalk built over a hundred-meter deep abyss with a crane. The jury appreciated their bravery, but some of them struggled with the height. Jermaine was particularly impressed, while others, like Xenia (24), Lea, and Grace, felt a bit intimidated by the height, especially with sky-high heels.

In the decision round, the audience was shocked as Kadidja, who had the most jobs among all the models, was eliminated. "The good pictures of you were the ones where you laugh," Kerstin Schneider explained. But that's not what "Harper's Bazaar" magazine represents. Kadidja's references to her casting successes in the past couldn't save her from elimination. The model duo is now the one to beat as they get closer to the finals.
