Frederik X. strolls around Copenhagen accompanied by 42,000 people.
Frederik X organized Denmark's famous Royal Run when he was still a crown prince. Recently, he participated in the event as the nation's king, running alongside princesses, princes, and thousands of average citizens.
The annual fun run occurred in Copenhagen, where over 42,000 participants joined the race. Due to a fire in the historic stock exchange, the route had to be changed slightly.
The Royal Run also took place in four other Danish cities. The royal family shared on Instagram that "with over 95,000 registrations, we've set a new record for this year's race." Images of the king receiving a participant's medal were shared.
Frederik started the Royal Run in 2018 during his 50th birthday celebrations when he was still a crown prince. A fan of physical activity, he has previously finished several marathons, an Ironman, and other challenges.
Crown Prince Christian (18) participated, as well as his sisters Princess Isabella (17) and twins Princess Josephine and Prince Vincent (13), who were proudly displaying their medals later. Frederik's mother, Queen Margrethe II (84), abdicated unexpectedly in January but watched the race from Fredensborg Castle, north of Copenhagen, according to the palace.
