Ex-husband of Reese Witherspoon reminisces over their "hot" moments together.
Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon were married for nine years, but their divorce in 2006 turned out to be the worst time of Ryan's life. Nowadays, he still seems to be missing his ex-wife, as a recent post showed.
Ryan shared a picture of him and Reese on Instagram, with the caption: "We were hot and sweaty from the good old days in the late 90s @reesewitherspoon (a much better time than today)." In the photo, the former couple is wrapped in each other’s arms. Reese is wearing a black-and-white striped dress with a bow on her neckline and a chin-length bob. Ryan sports a St. Louis scalp lock hairstyle and a full three-day beard. He's wearing a sleeveless blue-and-white striped shirt with a collar, black pants, and a pair of dark sunglasses.
According to reports, Ryan and Reese first met at her 21st birthday party in 1997 and starred together with Selma Blair in "Cruel Intentions" shortly after. In 1999, they tied the knot after six months of engagement.
Divorce took a toll on Phillippe
Ryan and Reese stayed together for nine years and had two children, daughter Ava and son Deacon. They eventually split in October 2006, but continued to co-parent their kids. Ryan once told W Magazine that the divorce was "the darkest, saddest place I've ever been." It took him "four to five months" before he was able to get out of bed and get on with his life.
Reese married Jim Toth in 2011, after a two-year relationship with Jake Gyllenhaal. Together they had a boy named Tennessee. In March 2023, they announced their separation. Ryan has not remarried since, but has a daughter, Kai, with his ex-girlfriend Alexis Knapp.
