Harmonious Sounds - Eminem unveils fresh track.
American rapper Eminem revives his old alter ego Slim Shady in a new single. Slim Shady first gained fame with this character at the end of the '90s. The video for the song "Houdini," which was released on Friday, shows Eminem's time capsule-emerging alter ego interacting with the current Eminem.
Dr. Dre, the producer and rapper, also makes an appearance in the video. "Houdini" is constructed around a sample from the 1982 Steve Miller Band song "Abracadabra."
Universal Music announced this week that Eminem's new album "The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)" will be released this summer. The title implies that the album is about bidding farewell to the Slim Shady character.
The Detroit-born star rapper, known as Marshall Bruce Mathers III, last released a successful album called "Music To Be Murdered By" early in 2020.
