A video has been released, showing American rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs assaulting his then-partner in a hotel corridor back in 2016. The footage displays him hitting the woman, tossing her to the ground, and kicking her. Diddy recently expressed remorse over his actions on Instagram.
In a recording shared on Instagram, US rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs has apologized for an incident of assault, seemingly directed at an ex-lover. He stated, "What I did in that video is inexcusable." Combs takes full responsibility for his actions, claiming he found them equally repulsive back then and now.
Combs' apology followed the surfacing of a surveillance video from a hotel in 2016, displaying the musician abusing his then-girlfriend, Casandra Ventura, in a hallway. The recording captures the artist striking the woman, shoving her to the ground, and kicking her.
Cassie, the stage name of singer Ventura, accused Combs in a civil lawsuit of sexual abuse, rape, intimidation, and physical violence. She entered a settlement with Combs last year.
In response to the release of the video, Cassie's attorney, Douglas Wigdor, issued a statement. In it, he called the video "heartbreaking" evidence of Combs' "disturbing" behavior. Wigdor commended Cassie's "courage" and "strength" for exposing this behavior.
Several women have previously come forward with similar accusations against Combs. The wealthy and successful figure in the hip-hop industry, who also works as a record producer, actor, and in various other business ventures, had previously denied these claims.
