"Dancing: A Large-Scale Professional Endeavor" - Debate over Lusin and Sinató's winning moment

Following the conclusion of the dance competition television program "Let's Dance" on May 24th, another special event called "Let's Dance - The Great Pro Challenge" aired on May 31st (Friday) on RTL, as well as RTL+. The professional dancers once again showcased their talent. Instead, Massimo Sinato (43) and Valentin Lusin (37) emerged as winners. On the second spot were the fresh pair, Anastasia Stan (26) and Evgeny Vinokurov (33). Placing third was the previous beloved couple, Ekaterina Leonova (37) and Paul Lorenz (37).

"Let's Dance" team appeals for reason

The choice of the winning male duo based entirely on the number of votes sparked discontent among viewers on social media. This led to a heated discussion on Instagram, even touching upon conspiracy theories. In response, the "Let's Dance" team pleaded for calm, stating, "Dear dance fanatics, it's you who decide the winners via your calls. Please maintain harmonious communication in your comments."

Prior to this, dissatisfied viewers expressed their disapproval through remarks such as, "Evgeni and Anastasia should have won instead." The contest has been a topic of continuous chatter as never before. "The Pro Challenge normally receives notable attention, but when it's so transparently manipulated, it's quite a surprise." Another commenter argued, "But if those who don't call or are unwilling to pay end up winning, then it shouldn't be the contest winners." One user even attempted to provide more perspective, saying, "But if those who don't call or don't want to spend money, someone else will win." This, in turn, angered a viewer, who responded with, "What nonsense is that? I'm 70 and I use Instagram."

Despite the negativity, there were also compliments like, "Stop acting like you're losing the game. It's only a dance show." Additionally, this comment gained a significant number of likes, "How come these grumpy people are all suddenly here? I'm pleased with the victors. I would have been just as happy for one of the other dance couples."

Another remark raised the broader perspective, "No matter if it's 'Let's Dance' or the Trump trial: If the outcome doesn't align with your expectations, it's all fabricated and unfair. People have grown to be poor losers. Disappointing."

In addition, some were already making plans for the opening of the next season, playing around with a prop that Massimo Sinato used in the competition: "I'm already excited for the bed in the Opening 2025." The Pro Challenge winners typically choreograph the opening of a new season of the dance show.
