Britney Spears has had a long history of disagreements with her family. Recently, though, she's showing signs of wanting a closer relationship with them. Even amidst their issues, the 42-year-old singer expresses her love and longing for her relatives on social media.
In a recent Instagram post, Spears shared a heartfelt message: "We all have issues with our family, but you can't deny how much you love them." She also posted an older picture showing her mother Lynne Spears sitting at a table with her sister Jamie Lynn Spears and Britney's children.
The singer even joked about her seating arrangements at events: "At every event, I always end up at the kids' table. I don't care if it's the most expensive dinner, I'm sitting with the children!" She shared the photo because, according to her, her family is beautiful and she misses them.
Tensions with family members
Spears has shared her grievances about her family in her memoir, "The Woman in Me: My Story" (published in 2023). She claims that her father, Jamie Spears, controlled her life during her conservatorship. The singer also feels let down by her mother and younger sister during her guardianship days. She also criticized her sister Jamie Lynn for casting her in a negative light in her memoir "Things I Should Have Said" (published in 2022).
Recently, Spears was in the news for a possible altercation at a luxury hotel in Hollywood. She accused her mother, who had not spoken to her in six months, of being involved in the nighttime event. In an Instagram post, she wrote, "I know my mom was involved! She called me after the incident before the news came out."
