Annika Kärsten-Hoenig: Heinz feels tremendous fear.
Actor Heinz Hoenig is set for surgery soon. His wife, Annika Kärsten-Hoenig, talks about his emotions, fears, and determination. She remains hopeful.
Famed actor Heinz Hoenig, known for his roles in "Das Boot" and more, will still go under the knife. His wife, Annika Kärsten-Hoenig, shared her husband's thoughts and feelings in an interview with "stern TV." "Heinz is battling and is courageous. He's extremely afraid, but also possesses a strong desire to live," she expressed. The doctors made sure to inform him of the potential risks associated with the procedures, she added.
"But he also understands that we're in this together, and that love surpasses everything we may face," she continued. "My strength lies in my love for my husband. When I'm with him, I feel rejuvenated and content. He's my great protector, and now I must be his." She spends every spare moment by his side.
Last week, she found out her application to join the government-sponsored health insurance scheme was denied; the requirements weren't met. She's unsure what the next steps are. Despite this, fans and fellow actors managed to raise 150,000 euros for Hoenig as part of a fundraising initiative. Kärsten-Hoenig thanks them sincerely. "He used to earn a good living and could have saved up, yes. However, he always had to pay for everything on his own - and eventually, the savings were depleted," she stated.

Although the surgery could impact his Entertainment career momentarily, Heinz's health remains his top priority. Due to certain health issues, Annika had trouble securing government-sponsored Health insurance, which has added an additional layer of stress to their situation.
