Actor James Franco reappears.
James Franco has reemerged in the public eye after a hiatus of 5 years following allegations of sexual misconduct in 2019. He recently graced the red carpet at the 2023 Cannes Film Festival with his girlfriend Izabel Pakzad.
Dressed in a classy, black tuxedo with a bow tie and a white shirt, Franco and Pakzad exuded an air of love and elegance at the premiere of the film "Kinds of Kindness" directed by Giorgos Lanthimos. Pakzad wore a stately, black pant suit adorned with glittering gold chains, complimenting her partner's choice of attire perfectly. The couple has been in a relationship for 7 years.
The occasion showcased Franco's return to Hollywood as he promotes his new action-thriller, "The Razor's Edge", co-starring Tommy Lee Jones. He will take on a leading role in the film, a project he shares with his partner, Pakzad.
Controversial past resurfaces
After a noticeable absence on the red carpet, Franco has stepped back into the spotlight to support their recent film project. However, his history of sexual misconduct from 2019 remains fresh in the minds of the public. At the time, Franco was accused of sexual harassment by several women which led him to withdraw from the public eye. His acting school, Studio 4, also faced negative publicity.
Students of the then-active film and acting school accused Franco and his associates of coercing them into sexual encounters. This included forcing them into increasingly explicit sex scenes, which ultimately led to its closure. In 2021, the actor reached an agreement to pay 2.2 million US dollars to settle the allegations in a lawsuit.
During an interview on SiriusXM, Franco addressed the situation and said, "I thought my actions were okay because the sex was consensual". Reflecting on his previous mindset, he admitted, "I slept with schoolgirls (...) and that was wrong". However, he claimed he was 'not clear in his head' at the time.
James Franco, now back in the public eye, hopes to return to his successful career with his upcoming project.

Despite his return to the Cannes Film Festival and the release of his new film, "The Razor's Edge," James Franco's past accusations of sexual harassment at the 2019 Entertainment industry event continue to be a topic of discussion. The allegations, which involved several women and coercion into sexual encounters, led to Franco withdrawing from the public eye for a period.
At the Cannes Film Festival, Franco's history of sexual misconduct in the Entertainment industry, specifically Hollywood, cast a shadow over his appearance. Despite his attempts to promote his film and career, the memories of his unfortunate past still linger in the minds of many, particularly in light of the #MeToo movement.
