Actor Chris Pratt is grieving the passing of his stunt double.

For actors to make a mark on screen, they require support - like stunt doubles. Tony McFarr, a man who filled in for Chris Pratt in numerous films, has now passed away. Hollywood is utterly flabbergasted.

Although they might not be the ones putting their names out there, these men and women play a vital role in a film’s success: Stuntmen and stuntwomen. The entertainment community is currently mourning the demise of Tony McFarr, who, among other accomplishments, stood in for Chris Pratt in those more perilous scenes.

Media outlets shared that McFarr breathed his last on Monday at the age of just 47 in his house near Orlando, Florida. As per his family, the cause of death remained uncertain. McFarr's mother, Donna, confessed to TMZ that her son's passing was both "unexpected and shocking."

McFarr's career encompassed stunt work on movies like "Ant-Man and The Wasp" and "The Hunger Games" series. He doubled Pratt in two movies within the "Jurassic World" franchise, "Passengers," and "Guardians of the Galaxy 2". The renowned star spoke up about McFarr's death with a heartfelt statement.

"Tough as nails"

In his Instagram stories, Pratt recalled working with McFarr. The 44-year-old wrote: "I am heartbroken over the loss of my buddy and former stunt double Tony McFarr. We shot several films together. We played golf, burned whiskey, smoked cigars, and spent tremendous hours on set."

He'll never forget McFarr's gruffness, Pratt recalls. He reminisced about how the stuntman endured a head injury during the opening credits of "Guardians of the Galaxy 2," sealed with a few staples. "He bounced back to work like nothing happened," said Pratt.

According to Pratt, McFarr was "consistently a gentleman and a professional." "We'll miss him. My thoughts go out to his friends and family, particularly his daughter," the actor stated. His Instagram also showcased photographs of himself and McFarr on set of "Jurassic World" and "Passengers."

Tony McFarr served as a stuntman in Hollywood since 2011 and, according to TMZ, also made an appearance as an actor. He also apparently ran a few restaurants.
