Nick Carter's abuse scandal documented in new film. - A member of the "Backstreet Boys" group appears in court.
Following the release of the documentary "Fallen Idols: Aaron and Nick Carter" on May 27th on the US network Investigation Discovery, the former Backstreet Boys singer vehemently denies the accusations and has his legal team take action.
The four-part docuseries features accounts from Melissa Schuman, a singer from the girl group Dream, Shannon "Shay" Ruth, and Ashley Repp – all of whom have accused Nick Carter (44) of sexual assault in the past. The artist is now fighting back and is engaging in legal action once more.
Carter's attorney, Dale Hayes Jr., told "The Hollywood Reporter": "These are precisely the same shameful allegations that prompted us to sue this group of conspirators. We are certain that we will win and hold them accountable for spreading these lies."
The accusations carry considerable weight
Schuman recounts in the documentary an alleged sexual assault event from 2002. She had frequently told Carter, "I'm saving myself for my husband, my future husband." He responded, "I could be your husband." The entire ordeal was deplorable, and she felt as though he was forcing something inside of her. She asked him, "Nick, what is that?" to which he replied, "That's me, Baby." She was merely 18 years old at the time. For years, the singer kept silent. In 2023, she filed a lawsuit against the highly renowned musician. He counter-sued for defamation. The series revives interest in the controversy.
During the production, the executive producer Michael Hirschorn told "The Hollywood Reporter" in an interview that they had been in touch with Nick Carter's team throughout filming and had given him the chance to respond to the sexual assault allegations. He decided not to.
The docuseries "Fallen Idols: Nick and Aaron Carter" from Investigation Discovery tackles the sex scandal around Nick Carter in the first two episodes and his deceased brother Aaron Carter (1987-2022) in episodes three and four.
