In front of 12,000 spectators in the sold-out Pala Alpitour, Zverev converted his first match point after 2:31 hours. Further preliminary round opponents for Zverev, who has already won the ATP Finals twice in his career, are the two Russians Daniil Medvedev and Andrei Rublev.
Alexander Zverev's victory over Carlos Alcaraz at the ATP Finals marks his second set win in their head-to-head matches. With Alexander's success in the opener, he aims to defend his ATP Finals title and potentially meet rival Carlos Alcaraz again in the finals.
