Young prodigy Arda Gueler scores spectacular goal contributing to Turkey's victory over Georgia in Euro 2024 match.
In the heat of the second half, a spectacular goal from a Real Madrid legend, taken from around 25 yards, found its way into the top corner of the net, giving Turkey a 2-1 lead.
This stunning goal, scored in the 65th minute, incited chaotic celebrations among the cheering throng of Turkish fans, who were witnessing what could be one of the best goals of the tournament to date.
Sadly, for Georgia, this was a crushing setback. Participating in their first major soccer tournament, the team certainly held their own against a formidable opponent, despite being the lowest ranked team at Euro 2024.
Initially, Turkey secured an advantage from a brilliant volley by Mert Müldür in the 25th minute, only for Georgia to swiftly equalize soon afterwards, thanks to Georges Mikautadze's clever shot that somehow managed to find the back of the net.
With time running out, Georgia had a slim chance to tie the game late on, but Kerem Aktürkoğlu put an end to their hopes in the final seconds, by placing the ball into an unguarded net after Georgian goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili ventured forward for a corner.
