Exciting News for Potterheads Globally!

The internet is abuzz with excitement as American broadcasting network HBO has declared their intention to cast the main characters for a new TV series inspired by the magical world of Harry Potter, Ron, and Hermione. This thrilling announcement was reported by "Variety" magazine, and interested applicants have until October 31 to submit their applications.

Discovered via Social Media

Fans of the beloved series stumbled upon the casting call online on a recent Monday. HBO validated the authenticity of the announcement to "Variety". The casting call is seeking children who will be around nine to eleven years old in April 2025. The announcement makes it clear that it has an open casting policy, considering all ethnicities and genders for the roles. It emphasizes their commitment to a diverse casting process and encourages submissions for every role.

A Challenge for German Enthusiasts

German fans of Harry Potter might also be harboring dreams of starring in the series. However, the new Harrys, Hermiones, and Rons will need to reside in the United Kingdom or Ireland. Becoming a British citizen immediately might seem challenging, but as we've learned from the Potter series, miracles do happen.

For the audition, the young actors are required to submit two short self-recorded videos. The guidelines ask for a brief introduction that includes the applicant's birthdate, height, and current address. A significant person or pet in the applicant's life must also be described.

Deadline: October 31

The deadline for submissions is October 31. The series is scheduled to be filmed in the UK in 2025 and 2026, and it is set to span across seven seasons. Each season will adapt one of J.K. Rowling's (59) best-selling novels. Although a release date has not been announced yet, the series is expected to be a massive hit. Francesca Gardiner and Mark Mylod (59) are set to serve as executive producers and directors for the series. The Harry Potter series, which revolves around the adventures of young wizard Harry Potter, has sold over 600 million copies worldwide and was transformed into eight blockbuster films between 2001 and 2011, starring Daniel Radcliffe (35) in the title role. These films generated a total of approximately 7.2 billion euros in revenue.

The casting call for the new Harry Potter series is open to applicants from all over the world, but the chosen actors will need to reside in either the United Kingdom or Ireland due to the filming location. The United Kingdom, being the chosen country for production, will likely see a surge of enthusiasm from its citizens and Potter fans alike.
