- World champion in Paris without a medal

Olympic champion on the parallel bars, Lukas Dauser of Germany, failed to win a medal in the event at the Paris Olympics. The 31-year-old from Unterhaching competed in the high-level final 44 days after suffering a muscle bundle tear in his right biceps, scoring 13.700 points with errors and placing seventh. During a rotation, Germany's Sportsman of the Year hit his leg on the bar.

China's Jingyuan Zou, who also won gold in 2021 in Tokyo, took the top spot with a score of 16.200. Ukraine's Illia Kovtun won silver with 15.500 points. Japan's Shinnosuke Oka, who won team and all-around gold, claimed bronze with 15.300 points.

Despite Lukas Dauser's valiant effort following his injury, Paris proved to be a challenging city for the German parallel bars champion to secure a medal. Regrettably, his ranking in Paris was lower than his triumphant win in Tokyo a year prior.
