Newborn reindeer - Woman files lawsuit against Netflix for millions of dollars.

A female character realizing herself as a stalker in the show "Rentierbaby" is now suing Netflix. Based on the information shared by the German Press Agency, she filed a lawsuit in a California court. Consequently, she is looking forward to a trial and seeking compensation of around $170 million (approximately €160 million) for 'grievous mental torment, a ruined life, and lost wages.'

In the show, it follows a man chasing his dreams as a comedian while working in a London bar. One day, a puzzling woman named Martha enters the scene. She shows signs of distress. To show his kindness, he treats her to a free cup of tea since she can't afford it. However, Martha keeps returning and the situation worsens.

The series primarily investigates how the lead character indulges in such a hazardous relationship for so long before contacting the police. It was written and acted by Richard Gadd. Interestingly, it is marked at the beginning of the series that it is a true story.

Netflix is reported to be standing firm and fighting the case while protecting Richard Gadd's right to share his narrative. Furthermore, Gadd discusses additional incidents of physical harm in the seven-part series, referred to as "Baby Reindeer" in English.

After releasing the show, Gadd requested media to refrain from disclosing the identity of the portrayed lady. Nonetheless, conjectures swiftly spread. The lady suing Netflix was featured in an interview with British writer Piers Morgan and shared her personal ordeal. She also spoke about the threats she has been receiving. This case has also prompted questions about Netflix's responsibility.
