Whoopi Goldberg's gathering of the choir from 'Sister Act 2' stirs feelings of nostalgia for many.

In the movie "Sister Act" from 1992, Goldberg played the role of Deloris van Cartier, a woman hiding in a nun's habit as part of the witness protection program. When asked to help the choir at St. Francis Academy in San Francisco by her former friends in the 1994 sequel, Goldberg agreed to become Sister Mary Clarence again.

Wednesday's episode of the ABC daytime talk show Goldberg co-moderates saw her hosting a reunion with some of her "Sister Act" co-stars. These included Sheryl Lee Ralph, Kathy Najimy, Wendy Makkena, Ryan Toby, Tanya Trotter (known as Tanya Blount in the film), David Kater, Monica Calhoun, Dionna Nichelle, Alex Martin, Frank Odell Howard, Jermaine Montell, DeeDee Magno Hall, Ashley Thompson, and Deondray Gossfield. Marc Shaiman and Mervyn Warren, the movie's composers, were also present.

To start the show, the cast members performed a rendition of "Oh Happy Day" straight from the movie. Later on, they were joined by students from New York's LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts for an impressive rendition of "Joyful, Joyful", another iconic song from the film.

As the show came to a close, Goldberg appeared deeply touched and emotional after being hugged by Ralph and several other co-stars. However, Lauryn Hill, another major actor from "Sister Act 2", was not present. Residents hope to see her in the upcoming "Sister Act 3".

According to IMDB, Goldberg, Makkena, and Najimy are confirmed to resume their roles in the new installment of the series, with Keke Palmer also joining the cast.
