Elite - What happened in the last episodes?

The Spanish drama series "Elite" bids farewell to Netflix. The eighth season, available from July 26, holds the final episodes. Fans are eagerly waiting.

A Look Back

The series premiered on Netflix in October 2018. It revolves around the students of Las Encinas, the best and most exclusive school in all of Spain, where the children of the elite are groomed. The connections between the teenagers bring secrets, intrigues, and even murders. The encounter of the Elite teenagers and students from the working class, who come to the school through scholarships, sets the foundation for all subsequent entanglements.

Throughout the storyline, the wealthy families and their own problems are also frequently addressed. New principals, classmates, and teachers mix things up at Las Encinas across all seasons. Consequently, there have been some new arrivals and departures in the cast. In the last season, the creators remain faithful to this concept.

The Cast

In the eighth season, developed by Carlos Montero (52) and Jaime Vaca (47), the returning cast members include Omar Ayuso (26, Omar), André Lamoglia (26, Iván), Valentina Zenere (27, Isadora), Mirela Balić (24, Chloe), Gleb Abrosimov (24, Eric), Fernando Líndez (24, Joel), Nadia Al Saidi (26, Sonia), Ander Puig (23, Nico), Carmen Arrufat (21, Sara), Iván Mendes (29, Dalmar), Maribel Verdú́ (53, Carmen), and Mina el Hammani (30). The latter returns as Omar's sister Nadia to the series, she was last in Season 4.

The newcomers of the season are Ane Rot, Nuno Gallego, Alexandra Pino, and Mario Ermito. The former play a sibling pair that causes quite a stir.

The Episodes

Emilia (Rot) and Héctor Krawietz (Gallego) take the reins in the new episodes of Alumni, a network of former students and students from Las Encinas, causing chaos at the school. "The siblings are influential, powerful, corrupt, and instigate corruption," according to the announcement. And so they spread chaos and destruction, and no one dares to oppose them. Only Omar wants to do everything to bring them down. "Because ultimately, they represent all that has been wrong at Las Encinas since the beginning." The trailer suggests that there will be another tragic murder case (Joel) that needs to be solved.

"We have found a good ending," series co-creator Carlos Montero announced at a press conference in October 2023. "Jaime, Netflix, and I thought it was time to end the series. I say this with great sadness, as it was some incredible years where I met wonderful actors. We worked with all the directors we wanted to work with, and we had the luxury of having Maribel in the last two seasons. 'Elite' has changed all our lives, there are actors who started with us and it was their springboard to become international stars." It makes him proud "to have contributed to that and to know that people all over the world have seen us and enjoyed it."
