While Frederik was dressed in a classical suit, Mary excitedly wore a red jumpsuit - fittingly in the colors of the Danish flag.

In an Instagram post, the Danish Royal Palace wrote about several photos: "Yesterday, Your Majesties cut the ribbon of the Danish Pavilion in the heart of Paris on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées. During the Olympics, Denmark will promote itself in the French capital with Danish design, food, health, and sustainable solutions in an event area." In the coming 17 days, visitors from all over the world will have the opportunity to experience Danish culture and various events surrounding the Games at "Danmarkshuset."

At the Olympic Games, it is a tradition for participating nations to set up a house where they present their culture and organize various events around the Games. Germany even has a whole stadium with a fan zone this year, where events such as public viewings, meetings with athletes, and several parties are planned to take place.

Olympics is particularly special for Mary and Frederik

The Olympics are not just a particularly special event for Mary and Frederik from a sporting perspective: In the year 2000, the then Crown Prince Frederik and the commoner Mary Donaldson met each other during the Olympics in Sydney - their love story is therefore forever linked to the sports event.

Four years later, on May 14, 2004, the couple gave their consent in Copenhagen. They have four children together - Crown Prince Christian (18), Princess Isabella (17), and the twins Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine (13). After the abdication of his mother Queen Margrethe (84), Frederik was crowned King of Denmark on January 14, 2024.
