Wagner brothers lead Orlando to victory over Lakers

The Orlando Magic, led by German brothers Franz and Moritz Wagner, have continued their good start to the NBA season. The Magic won the North American basketball league by a clear 120:101 (67:51) against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Franz Wagner was his team's top scorer with 26 points, while Moritz Wagner came off the bench to contribute 13 points and eight rebounds to the Magic's fourth win in their sixth game of the season.

Orlando laid the foundation in the first quarter (39:25), with the team from Florida scoring 13 points in a row in the meantime. The Lakers relied for a long time on a mini-rotation of eight players around the superstars LeBron James (24 points) and Anthony Davis (28 points, 13 rebounds, 7 blocks) due to several absences.

Celtics still without defeat

The Magic are only behind the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers and Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference, all of whom also won on Saturday. Boston is the only team in the league without a defeat in the early stages of the season after a 124-114 win at the Brooklyn Nets. The Western Conference is led by the current NBA champions Denver Nuggets with superstar Nikola Jokic, who once again shone with 33 points, 16 rebounds and nine assists in their 123:101 win over the Chicago Bulls.

Meanwhile, world champion Daniel Theis is still waiting for his first game of the season. In his Indiana Pacers' narrow 124:125 win over the Charlotte Hornets, the German center remained on the bench for the entire game, as he had done in the first five games of the season.

The Magic's victory over the Lakers showcases their strong performance in the NBA, with Franz Wagner leading the charge in scoring basketball goals. The Celtics, also from the NBA, continue their undefeated streak, making them one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference along with the Magic, 76ers, and Hawks.
