Handball - Victory against Romania: DHB women remain on course for the World Cup

Germany's women's handball team got off to a perfect start in the World Championship main round with a win against Romania.

The team of national coach Markus Gaugisch won 24:22 (9:12) in Herning thanks to a clear improvement after the break and thus still has the best chance of reaching the quarter-finals.

Antje Döll and Annika Lott were the best scorers for the DHB team, who are still unbeaten in the tournament, with four goals each. Goalkeeper Katharina Filter was the guarantor of victory with numerous saves in the second half. The German team's next main round opponent is Serbia on Saturday. The second phase of the tournament concludes next Monday against co-hosts Denmark.
