Untrustworthy Traitor: Always Be Wary! - Upcoming season set for October's arrival
At present, Sonja Zietlow (56) and her co-host Jan Köppen (41) are featured on "I'm a Star - Showdown of Jungle Legends", and a fresh format is on the horizon. Soon, she'll be dealing with a multitude of celebrities again. RTL reveals that the Halloween special of the reality game show "The Traitors - Don't Trust Anyone!" will air on their in-house streaming service, RTL+, beginning October 10th.
The upcoming season of the show will be strictly available on RTL+'s streaming service, RTL discloses. Currently, there are no plans for a traditional TV broadcast.
Mystery celebrities and a hidden fortune
During the last episode of the summer Jungle Camp, the hosts subtly hinted at the show's potential direction. "Three women collaborate under the cloak of darkness to oust the other contestants, with a fortune as the ultimate prize [...]", Zietlow mused. "That sounds familiar, but I can't place it." It remains to be seen if she's hinting at three female celebrities becoming traitors in the new season.
As per the broadcaster, Zietlow will once more invite "an elite group of celebrities" for the upcoming episodes. The identities of these stars are yet to be revealed. The competitors, who fought for 50,000 euros in the initial season last year, reunite in a castle. However, three individuals, unbeknownst to the others, are the traitors. Their mission is to eliminate competitors while securing the hidden fortune for themselves. The rest of the contestants, meanwhile, attempt to expose the treacherous players.
Unlike the celebrities, the audience is aware of the traitors' identities from the get-go.
In the upcoming season, viewers can exclusively watch "The Traitors - Don't Trust Anyone!" on RTL+'s streaming service, continuing the tradition of streaming-only releases. Interestingly, despite the change in broadcasting format, Sonja Zietlow appears to be drawing inspiration from classic game shows for the new season's plot.
