U.S. Open Championship: Bryson DeChambeau Stays Ahead of Rory McIlroy in Tense Clinch to Secure Second Major Victory

PGA star DeChambeau scores a final round 71 to tie and win by one stroke over Northern Irish competitor, finishing tournament at 6-under.

This leaves McIlroy, ranked No. 3 globally, in another disappointing near-victory as his decade-long quest for a fifth major title remains unfulfilled. The 35-year-old played exceptionally well to close the gap from three shots back to one shot ahead of DeChambeau, but ultimately missed key putts on the final holes from within four feet.
