Toni Kroos, the soccer world champion, declares he's retiring.
Soccer player Toni Kroos, a staple on the national team, has revealed his decision to retire following the summer's European Championship. The 2014 world champion made the announcement in his podcast "Einfach mal Luppen."
The last game for Kroos on German soil during this summer's Euro will mark the end of his exceptional career. Before officially hanging up his boots, the Midfielder will compete in Real Madrid's Champions League final on June 1st, which pits them against Borussia Dortmund.
"I'm pleased and proud to have chosen the perfect moment inside my mind to make my decision and do so independently," Kroos shared on his Instagram page.
