- Toilet paper calamity and an alluring birthday performance.
In case anyone's forgotten, "Jungle Camp" - the highest tier in German television: honor, fun, emotions, tears, and temperament! - that's what Thorsten Legat, ex-footballer with muscles "like stone," reminded the TV nation one fine day, ranting like usual. Even if only the others weren't around! Unfortunately, some campers didn't quite live up to the standards. "Yuck" and "disgusting," it was, or another way to put it: "It's just plain rude. It's entertainment for the simple-minded!"
Mola Adebisi, usually so laid-back, could sense a significant change under the palm leaves. No peace on the seventh day. The most heated argument of the "Legends" season sprang to life due to a simple roll of toilet paper. Kader Loth, team captain, suggested saving the paper for future use, but Giulia Siegel countered with some digging: "But excuse me, didn't you go to the bathroom earlier and wrap something in paper – what was that?" Suddenly, Siegel turned into an investigative journalist, silencing Kader with her question. She explained that she'd been hiding a sanitary pad, an embarrassment she didn't want to share with the others. "I just wanted to keep my pad hidden. That's what I was brought up to do!" Sharing such intimate details went beyond Kader's comfort zone, leaving her feeling exposed.
Support came from unexpected places: even the men in the group! Thorsten Legat, despite being a man, tried to have some insight ("I may not be a woman, but I do have a woman at home"), while Mola defended Siegel's privacy: "Kader is a very elegant lady. She embodies it. It's just inappropriate to ask her about 'Bloody pad: Where did you hide it?' - it's a big no-no!" He might love Siegel, but in this case, she was wrong and needed to apologize.
Siegel did apologize, but not sincerely: "I didn't mean any harm." Kader wasn't buying it and distanced herself from Siegel, just like half of Mpumalanga might at future Munich events. Things grew emotional for Siegel later, who felt mistreated and even bullied: "Some people aren't being fair to me."
"Jungle Camp": Hanka Rackwitz makes a dramatic exit
Feeling misunderstood and harassed for days now is also Hanka Rackwitz, ex-TV real estate agent ("Rent, buy, live"). Amidst arguments with Sarah Knappik, Elena Miras, and Mola Adebisi, the 55-year-old finally spoke up, uttering the famous phrase: "I'm a star – Get me out of here!" Sarah's blunt response, "Why? Let's vote you out!" felt like yet another misunderstanding. Rackwitz felt vindicated by the group's rejection, while Knappik realized that Rackwitz was at risk of losing a substantial portion of her fee. "No amount of money is worth it," Rackwitz lamented in the jungle phone, cursing "those idiots" again, and announcing that she was ready to pull the emergency brake for once and protect her "precious life." Rackwitz has had to battle anxieties and obsessive-compulsive disorders for years. Her decision to leave willingly was, she said, the bravest she had ever made.
Gigi Birofio celebrated his 25th birthday in the jungle. In response to Sarah Knappik's inquiry about his wishes, the dating show favorite grinned, "Honestly? A hookup, out here!" Sanity, however, prevailed. Instead, Gigi, Kader, and Thorsten took part in a reenactment of the infamous driving test. Swerve left, swerve right, not too far!
Amazingly, Kader and her "two testosterone levels" performed impressively, thanks in part to Gigi's enthusiastic instructions: "Go, go, go! Press harder on the gas, steer left, steer right!" And just like that, the trio made it to the finish line. Then, disaster struck – the car broke down! Host Jan Köppen dispatched machine Legat to push the vehicle across the finish line, and they finished strong with eight stars. Gigi later revealed his secret to success, grinning: "Genius!"
While Glatzeder hadn't shared many details about his life before, he dropped a bombshell: his first time in love happened in a broom closet. "And a son was born soon after, I didn't want him to feel uncomfortable." The revelation was just as uncomfortable for the rest of the audience, but Glatzeder, an actor, was used to performing on stage. Plus, he had a taste for classical music – "but only for breakfast!"
Thorsten Legat had other issues on his mind. The ex-soccer player ensured with the others that everything was set for the upcoming nomination. Everyone agreed. Even Eric Stehfest understood that the woman he had a strong affection for, who was already causing trouble in the camp, would be at the top of the elimination list following the toilet paper fiasco: Giulia Siegel.
"She thinks she knows it all," Elena Miras discovered after a failed cooking effort, during which Siegel demonstrated how to grip a knife, which knife to use, and how to cut vegetables. Miras surrendered, overwhelmed, and was close to breaking down: "I need to keep myself together now!" The final words of wisdom, however, were from Siegel's adversary in the toilet paper saga, Kader Loth: "As we all know: Food gets digested," the 51-year-old said. No, I apologize – that's not quite it. This was intended to be: "The worst thing in the jungle is the other contestants."
