"Romeo & Juliet" adaptation "All That Glitters" - Tim Downie confirmed in the cast
"All That Glitters" will breathe new life into Romeo and Juliet for Romeo and Juliet. Last week, the pre-production of Peter Lavery's film began. Now, "Deadline" confirms another actor for the comedy-drama. British actor Tim Downie (46) will take on the role of School Director Philip.
"Shakespeare has always been a great passion of mine, and with this film, Peter has written a wonderfully entertaining, inspiring love letter to him, which I can hardly wait to be a part of," the Brit raved about the project. In the leading roles, besides him, Paul Ready (47), Elliot Grihault (18), and Mark Lavery will be seen.
"Bringing Shakespeare Back in Fashion"
In "All That Glitters," Shakespeare's work from 1579 is translated into modern times. The film is about Ryan (Grihault), who as the son of the Director (Downie) at his school works as a stagehand for a production of "Romeo and Juliet." He is infatuated with the Juliet actress and longs for her closeness.
One day, the spirit of Shakespeare (Ready) appears to him and offers to help him become Romeo. On the way to his romantic happiness, Ryan must overcome numerous obstacles.
"I've always wanted to bring Shakespeare back in fashion, and we are incredibly proud to be working with an All-Star cast that will achieve this," explains director Lavery his mission. He can hardly wait for the start of filming. The release date is still unknown.
