Amazon Prime Day 2024 - Thousands of articles at reduced prices
Attention: Amazon is hosting Prime Day again. Members can save significantly, with the retailer announcing hundreds of thousands of deals in advance. As usual, customers will find discounted products across various categories on the retailer's website. These categories include Beauty, Fashion, Household, and Electronics.
Prime Day on July 16 and 17
Similar to Black Friday, bargain hunters are hoping to score a deal on a product. Despite the name, the established online event "Prime Day" is not only for Prime members for one day. In the lead-up to the tenth Prime Day, there are already some deals, and the event itself takes place on July 16 and 17 for 48 hours. Kerstin Giebels, Head of Prime at Amazon.de, promises in a statement a "shopping event with high discounts in every category."
During the event days, new deals are added continually. Amazon announces that among the offers, in addition to products from well-known brands like AEG, Lego, Sony, and WMF, there will also be items from smaller companies. In previous years, there have also been discounted televisions from Samsung, coffee machines from De'Longhi, or skincare products from L'Oréal Paris and Nivea. Amazon also wants to offer deals tailored to customers under categories like "Deals you might like," "Deals for you," and "Deals on items you've saved."
Household Technology at Discounted Prices
Amazon is also offering discounts on its own technology. This includes smart speakers like devices from the Echo Dot series or the recently introduced Echo Spot. The smart alarm clock, designed for the bedside table, supports Alexa like the Dots.
Additionally, Fire TV devices are expected to be discounted. This could be particularly interesting for those who have not yet considered an alternative to their cable TV subscription since the termination of the cable TV discount on July 1. For example, the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K allows users to bring TV and streaming content to their home TV or monitor. Supported are, among others, YouTube, public-broadcasting media libraries, TV services like Zattoo, or streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, and the Amazon service Prime Video, which is included in a Prime membership. However, those who want to watch Prime Video content without ads must pay an additional 2.99 Euro per month.
A well-known Prime trick for saving
As previously mentioned, only Prime members can benefit from the deals. For those who are not currently members, there is a well-known trick - a free trial membership. New customers can try out a Prime membership for 30 days free of charge and buy discounted products during this period.
However, those who do not cancel in time will pay in Germany, depending on the chosen plan, either 8.99 Euro per month or 89.90 Euro per year. Apprentices and students receive the membership for six months for free and then with a 50% discount.
