Thomas Müller doesn't understand the snow chaos "at all"
Instead of being able to play themselves, the FC Bayern professionals are spending Bundesliga Saturday on the couch. Thomas Müller animates the snow chaos in Bavaria with jokes and snow shoveling, teammate Leon Goretzka does not leave it uncommented. The mood is great despite the match being called off.
Thomas Müller has reacted to the weather-related cancellation of his FC Bayern Munich's Bundesliga home game against 1. FC Union Berlin this Saturday (3.30pm) with a funny video message. "Hello ladies and gentlemen, as so often on Saturday afternoons, we are in the right half lane. I don't understand at all why the game was canceled today," said the thickly wrapped-up Müller, who had been shoveling snow himself in thick flakes, laughing. "I don't know, but well, we all have to put up with it. It's incredibly snowy, I've rarely seen anything like it. Then we just clear the snow," the 34-year-old continued.
Due to the weather chaos in the south of Germany, the clash at the Allianz Arena in Munich had been called off on Saturday morning due to safety risks and the traffic situation. Snow and ice had caused traffic chaos in the south on Saturday morning.
"Bundesliga afternoon on the couch"
"Take care, everyone stay injury-free, don't slip and then let's see, maybe it will take place tomorrow or in the next few days. I hope as soon as possible - best wishes, then we'll just have a Bundesliga afternoon on the couch today," said Müller. A second video sequence showed one of Müller and his wife Lisa's horses frolicking in the deep snow.
Müller's team-mate Leon Goretzka responded no less amusingly via Instagram. In his video, Goretzka, dressed in pyjamas, trudged through the deep snow in the garden and fought the white with a small salt shaker: "Don't know what the fuss is about !?! @esmuellert 'schüpp' you go on," wrote the 28-year-old. At the same time, he called on people to avoid cooking salt and gritting salt with a view to the environment, as there are now good alternatives.
Goretzka's jibe had the laughs on his side - including those of Müller himself. "Really creative," replied his team-mate, posting a laughing emoji and a heart.
