## Before the Second Round of 16 Match in Germany vs Denmark, Much Was Speculated

Despite the speculation before the second Round of 16 match in Germany against Denmark, Bundestrainer Julian Nagelsmann has revealed that he will not waver from fielding the injured Antonio Rüdiger in Dortmund (8:20 PM on ZDF/Magenta TV or in the stern-Ticker). However, he left it open as to who would join him in the attack until just before the game in Dortmund.

DFB Team without Wirtz, but with Sané

Despite the doubts, Nagelsmann also selects Kai Havertz for the game against Denmark. Niclas Füllkrug, who has impressed as a substitute on multiple occasions, remains on the bench as planned. Maximilian Mittelstädt will also sit out, making way for David Raum. Additionally, Florian Wirtz is not in the starting lineup, with Leroy Sané taking his place. Nico Schlotterbeck replaces the yellow-card suspended Jonathan Tah.

The Nagelsmann team comes into the game with three wins against Scotland and Hungary, as well as a draw against Switzerland in the group stage. The Danes qualified for the Round of 16 as the second team in Group C without a single win in the group stage.

In the first Round of 16 match on Saturday, which kicked off at 6 PM, Switzerland surprised everyone by defeating title holders Italy 2:0. The winners of the Round of 16 matches advance to the quarterfinals, while the losers are eliminated from the tournament.

EM-2004 Match

The DFB has officially announced the squad lineup for the game in Dortmund:

  • Goalkeeper: Manuel Neuer
  • Defense: Joshua Kimmich, Nico Schlotterbeck, Antonio Rüdiger, David Raum
  • Midfield: Robert Andrich, Toni Kroos, Ilkay Gündoğan (Captain), Jamal Musiala, Leroy Sané
  • Forward: Kai Havertz

And so the Danes line up:

In preparation for their Round of 16 match against Germany, Denmark's National coach has kept faith in their squad, opting not to make any major changes. Emiliano Martínez, who have been impressive in the Group stage, will likely maintain his position as the starting goalkeeper.

Germany's choice of Leroy Sané over Florian Wirtz in the attack position has raised some eyebrows, but Nagelsmann has justified it by highlighting Sané's experience and ability to handle high-pressure situations.

Despite Antonio Rüdiger's injury, Nagelsmann has indicated that he will play a key role in the defense, with Nico Schlotterbeck joining him to replace the suspended Jonathan Tah. The combination of Joshua Kimmich and David Raum on the flanks is expected to provide a solid defensive structure.

In the midfield, Toni Kroos and Ilkay Gündoğan will anchor the team, while Jamal Musiala and Kai Havertz provide the creative spark. Robert Andrich's energy and determination are expected to provide the perfect balance.

The Round of 16 match against Denmark will undoubtedly be a challenging one for both teams. Germany's stellar performance in the group stage, with three wins and a draw, will give them confidence, while Denmark's resilience, as shown in the Group stage without a single win, should not be underestimated. The winner of this match will advance to the quarterfinals, while the loser will bow out of the tournament.
